Hostiko is a Kenyan web-hosting company built around how Kenyan businesses actually work — M-Pesa-first billing, KSh prices, real-time support from a Nairobi team, and infrastructure tuned for Safaricom 4G.
Quick facts
When the founders went looking for hosting for their own Kenyan businesses, every "global" option asked for a USD credit card most Kenyans don't have, billed in dollars that fluctuate against the shilling, and answered support tickets from time zones nine hours behind Nairobi.
Local options existed — but most were running on Apache from 2014, didn't take M-Pesa natively, and treated WhatsApp as a "premium" channel rather than where Kenyans actually live.
So Hostiko was built. We wired up M-Pesa STK Push directly into checkout, put everything on LiteSpeed Web Server for measurably faster PHP and WordPress, hosted the support team in Nairobi on Kenyan working hours, and priced plans in KSh so a weakening shilling doesn't blow up your hosting bill overnight.
Today we serve businesses across Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda — but the centre of gravity is, and stays, Nairobi.
Hosting should feel like ordering a chapati. Tap, pay, eat. Not "enter your 16-digit card number, verify with OTP, wait for your hosting to maybe get provisioned in 12 hours."
— Hostiko team philosophy
M-Pesa is how Kenyan businesses move money. Hosting that doesn't accept it is hosting that doesn't respect its users.
KSh for Kenyan customers. USD for international. We don't make you absorb FX volatility you didn't sign up for.
Our team is in Nairobi. We work Kenyan hours. WhatsApp, email, and tickets — answered by humans who get the local internet.
No "500+ businesses" trust stats we can't prove. No carousels. No fake reviews. Just a working host, honest about what it does.
A neutral look at where we fit and where we deliberately don't compete.
We're headquartered in Nairobi but our customers run across four East African countries — billed in the right currency, supported in the right time zone.
Hostiko is intentionally a tight team — engineering, support and operations work from the same room (or the same WhatsApp group). That means when something needs fixing, it gets fixed by someone who knows the whole stack, not handed off through three layers of ticket escalation.
We're not the biggest hosting company in Kenya. We don't want to be. We want to be the most-trusted host for any Kenyan business that values speed of payment, speed of activation, and speed of support — all in that order.
