Who Hosts This Website?

How this tool works

To identify the hosting provider behind any website, we look up four signals:

1. A record — the IPv4 address the domain points to.
2. Reverse DNS (PTR) — the name registered against that IP. Often reveals the host (e.g. server589.securedns.one).
3. ASN / organisation — which corporate entity owns the IP block, via public IP-geolocation data.
4. Authoritative nameservers — frequently sit on the host's own domain.

Combining those four signals usually gives a reliable answer. Edge cases: sites behind Cloudflare or another CDN hide the real origin host — we'll detect Cloudflare but can't see past it. Same for sites on Vercel, Netlify, etc.

Why check who hosts a website?

• Competitor research. If a competitor's site is fast, knowing their host helps you make an informed choice.
• Migration planning. When taking over an existing project, knowing the current host saves discovery time.
• Vendor assessment. Before signing up with a host yourself, see who hosts brand-name sites in your industry.
• Reporting abuse. Phishing or DMCA reports need to go to the hosting provider — not just the domain registrar.
